A few years ago, I was in pretty much the same situation you are: not athletic at all, but interested in getting more fit and meeting people. I moved to Chicago and joined a gay soccer league and a gay bowling league. Later I moved to DC and joined a gay bocce league. Overall, it's a great experience.That is not the case for many people.
